Stylised Mermaid with long, flowing hair.

The negative space between her body and legs was an interesting challenge for me. I had not worked with Marble for long, when I created this piece. The title is inspired by a brown algae seaweed, locally called mermaid's hair. I have often seen it flowing gently with the summer waves
 
Carved from Cape Breton Marble - white, with cream and some grey streaks.

My own take on a traditional theme.
