The artwork:
A study of the bear standing in melting snow and ice.
The snow and ice act as a base for the bear, and he is mounted on a maple board.
The shaggy coat speaks of spring approaching.
The collection:
Original, one-off wildlife hand carved in hydrocal (a very hard form of plaster).
The hydrocal used here is the type used in industrial applications, and has a yellow colour.
The paint is a thin coat of titanium white that allows some of the yellow undercolour to tint the final appearance.
